Discussion about what this blog represents and what it is going to be about will be presented and what all to expect on this blog in the future.

So, new page, new blog. And this is going to be different, because it's going to be more than writing. This blog is going to focus on activism, and if you aren't cool with the fact that I'm a write and an activist, you can take a hike. Likewise, if you are so bothered by what I believe in that you can't read what I write, that's okay by me.
I am queer, a pagan, have mental health problems, physical health problems, write open door romance (also queer), am a practicing Dominant, and have friends in various other minorities.
What do I believe in? Well, there's a lot of ways I could answer that. But I believe in human rights. The right to live a life in freedom and to be able to choose what parts of life people take part in. I believe in freedom of religion. No one should impinge on the ability of another to practice (or not practice) a religion that they choose. I believe in freedom of the press and of expression. People should be free to write and express as they so choose, however, they must accept responsibility for the results of those actions should they arise, i.e. hate speech. I believe in concepts like universal healthcare and universal access to mental health services for all.
I don't think what I believe in is so terribly revolutionary, to be honest with you. I believe it is just being a good human to other humans. I think that people should care about one another and that simple things such as respect go a long way. There are so many ways people can help one another, and I feel like so much of the time, selfishness wins out and it really shouldn't. Humans are a communal species, and we're made to work together. All this extreme individualism is detrimental to the type of thing that I'm talking about.
I guess what to expect on the blog is an important part of this post. This is a new blogging platform for me, and I want to make it clear from the start what the purpose is going to be. So, I guess you should expect it to be loud and bold when it comes to the rights of people. There will be posts about certain current events, and calls to action on what to do about them. These posts will also be posted to my newsletter, though just as posts, not mailed out to people specifically. These posts will always be free to the public, and I intend to make sure that each post has something actionable if I can, even if it is just advice on how to call your government representatives.
I want to that you for stopping by my blog, and do hope you've enjoyed your stay.
